Mid-Week News: Parise Bats with the Twins; The Rock for Sale?; Kovy Contract Offer Reportedly for 10+ Years

• Zach Parise is taking batting practice with the Minnesota Twins today.  No wonder he can't get anywhere in the playoffs.  Follow @NHLDevils on Twitter for more info.
• After reports surfaced a couple of days ago that the city of Newark was looking to sell the Prudential Center, the mayor of the city says that there are no formal plans in order right now and that they are just "bouncing ideas around".  I think the Devils need to invest in a new home insurance plan. • A Sport Express report says that the Devils are offering Kovalchuk another deal for 10+ years.  Take everything with a grain of salt.  Usually Sport Express is credible (not always); it definitely doesn't pull anything out of its *** as much as other "news sources" (*cough cough* HOCKEYBUZZ *cough cough*).

• ESPN New York reports that the Devils and Kovalchuk are working on a new deal.  Ground-breaking news right there.  Seriously, they should just stick to Favre Watch.
